Apa yang lebih menyedihkan mereka tidak mempunyai kualiti hidup seperti warga mas yang lain. Wargamas lain walaupun berusia 70an, tetapi masih aktif, ceria dan bersemangat. Wargamas yang tidak mendapat nutrisi yang secukupnya mungkin terlantar atas katil, semput bila berjalan dan kemurungan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jika ada tanda-tanda berikut, cuba buat pemeriksaan doktor, atau memujuk mereka membetulkan cara pemakanan. Pastikan mereka mengambil sayur dan buah, ada sedikit protein dan lemak sihat selain dari bijiran seperti beras parboiled atau beras perang. Berikan sedikit suplemen seperti multivitamin bagi menampung kekurangan ini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Rasa murung dan kebimbangan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nutrisi yang baik membantu kesihatan minda. Wargamas yang mengalami kekurangan nutrisi akan lebih cepat mengalami masalah mudah lupa, kemurungan, kebimbangan dan ada kalanya tidak dapat membuat keputusan dengan baik. Apa yang membimbangkan mereka akan mudah mendapat penyakit Alzheimer dan dementia. Galakkan mereka mendapat lemak sihat (healthy fat) seperti minyak zaitun, vitamin E dan omega 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Selera yang semakin berkurangan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wargamas yang sering mengalami batuk dan selsema mungkin kekurangan vitamin C dan Zink. Kedua-dua elemen nutrisi ini juga yang menyebabkan kehilangan selera untuk makan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Sukar untuk tidur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wargamas memang tidak tidur lama. Kebiasaannya kira-kira enam jam. Namun ada diantara mereka yang mengalami masalah agak sukar untuk tidur. Mereka hanya dapat tidur sejam dua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Penurunan berat badan yang ketara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wargamas terutama lelaki akan mengalami masalah pengecutan otot-otot. Ini menyebabkan mereka tidak berdaya untuk melakukan kerja yang pernah mereka lakukan. Pengecutan otot sehingga menyebabkan penurunan berat badan ini dapat dielakkan jika mereka kekal aktif, mendapat cukup vitamin D dan protein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Kulit yang kering dan rambut yang gugur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selalunya disebabkan oleh masalah kekurangan lemak sihat dalam pemakanan seperti&nbsp; minyak zaitun atau minyak kelapa. Mereka juga mungkin mengalami vitamin seperti A, D dan E.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. Tenaga yang rendah<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tenaga yang rendah, bukan saja disebabkan mereka mengalami kekurangan karbohidrat dan lemak dalam pemakanan mereka. Tetapi mungkin juga disebabkan oleh kekurangan zat besi, zink dan vitamin D.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. Rasa sakit tulang<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kekurangan vitamin D akan menyebabkan rasa sakit pada tulang, otot yang kejang dan tulang yang rapuh. Ini disebabkan mereka tidak lagi aktif di luar rumah untuk terdedah pada cahaya matahari. Kekurangan vitamin D juga akan menyebabkan mereka mengalami sistem daya tahan yang rendah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jadi kesimpulan wargamas (mereka yang berumur 60 tahun ke atas) dan mereka yang bakal bersara dalam kerjaya mereka (berumur 50 tahun) haruslah mengambil perhatian terhadap pemakanan yang mereka makan. Pastikan lengkap dengan makronutrien dan mikronutrien (vitamin, mineral dan antioksida).
